自從2012年開始的考試都必需要完成「醫學」基礎教育訓練，並檢具相關證明文件。
具「醫事人員資格」者，須檢附「醫事人員專業證照」及「專業教育畢業證書」影印本
所有「非醫療專業人員」考生，則必須檢具完成「醫學」基礎教育的上課證明。
For a non health professional to be eligible to sit the
exam they must be able to demonstrate they have the following:
1.基礎教育Foundation Education
所有第一次應試的「非醫療專業人員」考生，都必須出示等同於一學期的基礎教育證明；課程內容至少須包含下列主題：All first-time candidates must demonstrate completion of
the equivalent of one semester of tertiary or further education in the
following subjects:
(1). 人體解剖學/Human
Anatomy
(2).
生理學生理學/Human Physiology
(3).
生化學/Biology
(4). 嬰兒學和幼兒成長核發展/Infant and Child Growth and Development
(5). 營養學/Nutrition
(6). 社會學或文化敏感度OR文化人類學/Sociology or Cultural
Sensitivity or Cultural Anthropology
(7). 研究介紹/Introduction
to Research
(8). 心理學或諮詢輔導 OR 溝通技巧/Psychology or Counselling or Communications
Skill
且，還必須提供下列領域的教育證明: And additional education must be documented
in the following areas:
(1). 基本生命維持 (e.g.心肺復甦法) Basic life support (e.g. CPR)
(2). 醫學專用術語Medical terminology
(3). 醫學記錄Medical documentation
(4). 通用的安全預防措施和感染控制Universal
safety precautions and infection control
(5). 職業安全，包含安全性Occupational safety, including security
(6). 專業/法律議題(如；倫理規範) Professional/legal ethics (e.g. Code of Ethics)
2. 最少90小時之泌乳專業教育minimum of 90 hrs
of lactation specific education.
3. 1000小時之母乳哺育支持經驗(如果以路徑1身分應試者-即具醫療專業人員執照者)
1000Hrs of breastfeeding
support – if applying under pathway 1
或者Or
路徑3身分應試者-即在一位取得國際認證泌乳顧問資格五年以上之泌乳顧問指導下，完成500小時之母乳哺育支持經驗。
Pathway 3 – they
need an IBCLC of 5yrs+ who will mentor them for at least 500Hrs.

所有預計採「路徑3身分應試者」再開始累計500小時之母乳哺育支持經驗「前」，務必「先」取得國際泌乳顧問考試委員會-泛亞太地區總監Karolyn Vaughan女士簽署同意(聯絡Email: rd@iblce.com.au)；亦可透過國際泌乳顧問考試委員會-台灣區國家聯絡人 王淑芳博士 協助申請備查。
The candidate if doing pathway 3 MUST have
their pathway signed by me before they can start including counting hours
towards eligibility.

取得相關教育時數方式，可以
(1). 自我線上學習(http://www.health-e-learning.com/)的方式完成上述之基礎醫學課程要求，完成課程後自行列印"研習證明"檢附於報名資料中即可；
(2). 或是參加國內醫學院相關科系的學分班課程；
(3). 亦可與台灣區國家聯絡人-王淑芳博士聯絡，協助安排合格講師進行「自費」學習課程。
(鐘點費1600元/小時；約需36小時)
